How to Get the Most Out of the CBS Sports App for Live Scores

As a sports journalist who's been covering live games for over a decade, I've developed what you might call a sixth sense for tracking multiple matches simultaneously. Just last week, I found myself in a particularly challenging situation - I was physically present at the PBA finals covering Game 6 while desperately needing to monitor several international basketball matches happening concurrently. This is where the CBS Sports App became my digital co-pilot, and frankly, it handled the pressure better than some seasoned coaches I've known.

The beauty of modern sports apps lies in their ability to bridge geographical gaps in real-time. I recall watching Tropang Giga's practice session last Tuesday, the day before their crucial Game 6 finals match, while simultaneously tracking NBA preseason games through the app. What struck me was how Castro's recent recovery milestone - learning to walk without assistance - mirrored the app's evolution in providing comprehensive coverage. The app doesn't just show scores; it tells stories. With over 15 different sports leagues available and updates refreshing every 8-12 seconds during active games, it creates this immersive experience that makes you feel like you're courtside even when you're thousands of miles away.

Having tested numerous sports applications over the years, I've found the CBS Sports App's notification system particularly sophisticated. During that tense pre-finals period, I customized my alerts to receive breaking news about player conditions - exactly the kind of updates that would matter for someone like Castro returning to form. The app sends approximately 3-5 personalized notifications during crucial game moments, which might sound excessive but actually feels perfectly timed when you're invested in the outcome. What I appreciate most is how it balances depth with accessibility; you can either quickly glance at the score or dive into advanced statistics that would satisfy even the most analytical coach.

My personal workflow involves using the app's multi-game view feature, which allows monitoring up to 4 games simultaneously on a single screen. This proved invaluable when I needed to track both the PBA finals preparation and international matches. The data presentation is cleverly designed - key statistics like field goal percentages and player efficiency ratings are highlighted in contrasting colors that make them instantly readable. I've noticed the app processes about 200 data points per game, transforming raw numbers into meaningful insights that even casual fans can appreciate.

The true test came during Game 6 itself. While stationed at the arena, I used the app's second-screen functionality to check historical data and real-time analytics that enriched my understanding of the game's flow. There's something almost magical about watching a live game while having access to every relevant statistic at your fingertips. The app's play-by-play feature updates faster than most television broadcasts, giving me that crucial 8-10 second advantage that often makes the difference between catching and missing key developments.

What sets this application apart, in my professional opinion, is its understanding of context. It doesn't just tell you that a team scored; it explains how that score changes the game's momentum based on historical patterns and current conditions. During critical moments of Game 6, the app provided probability percentages that actually aligned remarkably well with my own gut feelings as an experienced observer. This blend of data and intuition creates this wonderful synergy that enhances rather than distracts from the live sports experience.

Looking back at that intense finals week, I realize how much the sports viewing landscape has transformed. The CBS Sports App has become an indispensable tool in my arsenal, not just for work but for pure enjoyment of the games I love. It manages to capture both the statistical reality and emotional truth of sports - much like witnessing Castro's determined return to practice before the decisive game. In today's fast-paced sports environment, having this level of comprehensive coverage literally in your pocket isn't just convenient; it's essential for anyone who wants to stay truly connected to the action.

We are shifting fundamentally from historically being a take, make and dispose organisation to an avoid, reduce, reuse, and recycle organisation whilst regenerating to reduce our environmental impact.  We see significant potential in this space for our operations and for our industry, not only to reduce waste and improve resource use efficiency, but to transform our view of the finite resources in our care.

Looking to the Future

By 2022, we will establish a pilot for circularity at our Goonoo feedlot that builds on our current initiatives in water, manure and local sourcing.  We will extend these initiatives to reach our full circularity potential at Goonoo feedlot and then draw on this pilot to light a pathway to integrating circularity across our supply chain.

The quality of our product and ongoing health of our business is intrinsically linked to healthy and functioning ecosystems.  We recognise our potential to play our part in reversing the decline in biodiversity, building soil health and protecting key ecosystems in our care.  This theme extends on the core initiatives and practices already embedded in our business including our sustainable stocking strategy and our long-standing best practice Rangelands Management program, to a more a holistic approach to our landscape.

We are the custodians of a significant natural asset that extends across 6.4 million hectares in some of the most remote parts of Australia.  Building a strong foundation of condition assessment will be fundamental to mapping out a successful pathway to improving the health of the landscape and to drive growth in the value of our Natural Capital.

Our Commitment

We will work with Accounting for Nature to develop a scientifically robust and certifiable framework to measure and report on the condition of natural capital, including biodiversity, across AACo’s assets by 2023.  We will apply that framework to baseline priority assets by 2024.

Looking to the Future

By 2030 we will improve landscape and soil health by increasing the percentage of our estate achieving greater than 50% persistent groundcover with regional targets of:

– Savannah and Tropics – 90% of land achieving >50% cover

– Sub-tropics – 80% of land achieving >50% perennial cover

– Grasslands – 80% of land achieving >50% cover

– Desert country – 60% of land achieving >50% cover
