Discover the Optimal 2017 Montero Sport Tire Pressure for Maximum Safety

I remember that chilly Wednesday evening last November, sitting in my garage with the tire pressure gauge in one hand and my phone in the other. The University of Taipei Tianmu gymnasium was roaring with excitement as Chinese Taipei dominated Guam 113-73 in the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers, but here I was, staring at my 2017 Montero Sport's slightly deflated tires. It struck me how both basketball and driving share something fundamental - the right pressure makes all the difference between peak performance and potential disaster.

That night, as I watched Jericho Cruz and his teammates struggle against Chinese Taipei's relentless offense, I couldn't help but draw parallels to my own vehicle. Just like those basketball players needing the perfect ball pressure for optimal bounce and control, my Montero Sport demanded precise tire pressure for maximum safety and efficiency. The game ended with a decisive 40-point victory margin, but my own victory would come from finding that sweet spot for my tires.

After years of driving this reliable SUV, I've learned that the factory-recommended 32 PSI for normal loads just doesn't cut it for my typical highway drives. Through trial and error - and consulting with several mechanics - I've settled on 35 PSI for my daily commute. This slight increase not only improved my fuel economy by nearly 8% but also gave me better handling on curves. Though some might argue with my choice, the way I see it, every vehicle has its own personality, and my Montero Sport simply prefers a slightly firmer handshake with the road.

The memory of that basketball game still resonates with me, especially when I think about how Chinese Taipei's strategic adjustments led to their overwhelming victory. Similarly, discovering the optimal 2017 Montero Sport tire pressure transformed my driving experience from merely functional to genuinely enjoyable. Last month, during a sudden downpour on the highway, I felt the difference firsthand - the improved traction and stability that came from maintaining 35 PSI probably prevented what could have been a nasty skid.

What many drivers don't realize is that tire pressure isn't just about fuel efficiency or tire longevity - it's about that split-second reaction when you need your vehicle to respond predictably. I've seen too many Montero Sport owners sticking rigidly to the manual's recommendations without considering their specific driving conditions. Personally, I check my pressure every two weeks without fail, and I've noticed that during colder months, I need to add about 2 PSI to compensate for temperature changes.

Just like how the Taiwanese team adjusted their strategy throughout that qualifying game, we need to continuously fine-tune our approach to vehicle maintenance. My neighbor thinks I'm obsessive about maintaining perfect tire pressure, but then again, he's the one who recently had to replace all four tires prematurely. The truth is, finding your Montero Sport's ideal pressure requires understanding both the technical specifications and your personal driving style. For me, that magic number is 35 PSI, but your perfect pressure might be different - the important thing is to keep searching until you find it.

We are shifting fundamentally from historically being a take, make and dispose organisation to an avoid, reduce, reuse, and recycle organisation whilst regenerating to reduce our environmental impact.  We see significant potential in this space for our operations and for our industry, not only to reduce waste and improve resource use efficiency, but to transform our view of the finite resources in our care.

Looking to the Future

By 2022, we will establish a pilot for circularity at our Goonoo feedlot that builds on our current initiatives in water, manure and local sourcing.  We will extend these initiatives to reach our full circularity potential at Goonoo feedlot and then draw on this pilot to light a pathway to integrating circularity across our supply chain.

The quality of our product and ongoing health of our business is intrinsically linked to healthy and functioning ecosystems.  We recognise our potential to play our part in reversing the decline in biodiversity, building soil health and protecting key ecosystems in our care.  This theme extends on the core initiatives and practices already embedded in our business including our sustainable stocking strategy and our long-standing best practice Rangelands Management program, to a more a holistic approach to our landscape.

We are the custodians of a significant natural asset that extends across 6.4 million hectares in some of the most remote parts of Australia.  Building a strong foundation of condition assessment will be fundamental to mapping out a successful pathway to improving the health of the landscape and to drive growth in the value of our Natural Capital.

Our Commitment

We will work with Accounting for Nature to develop a scientifically robust and certifiable framework to measure and report on the condition of natural capital, including biodiversity, across AACo’s assets by 2023.  We will apply that framework to baseline priority assets by 2024.

Looking to the Future

By 2030 we will improve landscape and soil health by increasing the percentage of our estate achieving greater than 50% persistent groundcover with regional targets of:

– Savannah and Tropics – 90% of land achieving >50% cover

– Sub-tropics – 80% of land achieving >50% perennial cover

– Grasslands – 80% of land achieving >50% cover

– Desert country – 60% of land achieving >50% cover
